Confirming address

To ensure that travel rule messages reach the intended counterparty, beneficiary VASPs are required to confirm that the blockchain address of the recipient belongs to them before receiving the full travel rule information. This creates an additional layer of trust before sharing sensitive data.

To do this, you can either upload a list of all wallet addresses that you control to Notabene, use a combination of the notification webhook and accept/reject/decline APIs, or a special address webhook to automatically look up the address in your backend and confirm control of it.

Recommendation

We recommend that you use the address webhook because it requires the least amount of implementation work on your side.

You might also be required to verify that the beneficiary details in the travel rule matches your customer's information.
