Redirect transfers

Learn how to manage agent replacements in transfers, including redirects and intermediary additions.

Any Agent can add, replace, or remove themselves as Agents in a transfer. This allows:

  • Redirects from gateway entities to a subsidiary entity
  • Adding intermediaries or missing entities

Redirects

To redirect any transfer you receive, such as on your parent entity, you can call the Replace Agent API with your correct subsidiary entity.

{{url}}/entity/:entityDID/tx/:tx/agents/replace

See the Postman collection for more details.

In the request body, specify the entity to replace and its replacement::

{
    "original": "entityDID",
    "replacement": {
        "@id": "entityDID-UK",
        "role": "VASP",
        "for": "beneficiary @id"
    }
}

The result of a Replace Agent action is that the platform will send the transfer to the new agent entity and notify all known agents in the transfer about the change. This keeps everyone updated. The new agent entity can then send their authorization requirements to other entities and fulfill others' requirements.

The transfer will be updated to a "Rejected" status, as it is not yours to authorize.
