Assets, Coins, and Tokens

Which tokens are supported by Notabene?

When creating a transfer, Notabene must know the fiat value of the transfer to enforce the correct jurisdictional requirements and policies.

Both transaction asset and transaction amount are required when creating a transfer.

📘

Notabene supports transfers for any cryptocurrency out of the box. See the Custom Tokens section below for more details.

Supported Tokens

Notabene offers 3,000+ supported tokens.

For transfers involving supported tokens Notabene can:

  • Automatically fetch the token price to calculate the fiat value of the transfer
  • Perform blockchain analytics screenings on the addresses involved in the transfer

Requesting New Tokens

Please use the following link to request new coins and we will do our best to add the asset within 5 business days.

You can look here to see what coins are pending or merged already.

Passing a Supported Token to the Transact API

Supported tokens can be identified to the Transact API as either a ticker symbol/blockchain pair or a CAIP19 identifier.

Ticker Symbol and Network

{
    ...
    "asset": "USDT-ETH",
    "amount": "1050",
    ...
}

examples: USDT-ETH, BTC-BTC, USDC-SOL

CAIP 19 Identifier

The official CAIP19 standard can be found here.

Notabene has additional educational resources on CAIP identifiers in the section below.

{
    ...
    "asset": "eip155:1/erc20:0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7",
    "amount": "1050",
    ...
}

examples:

  • USDT on Ethereum - eip155:1/erc20:0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7
  • Bitcoin - bip122:000000000019d6689c085ae165831e93/slip44:0
  • USDC on Solana - solana:5eykt4UsFv8P8NJdTREpY1vzqKqZKvdp/token:EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v

Custom Tokens

CAIP 19 Identifier

Notabene can support transfers for any token as long as the transaction value is also passed in the create transfer api call. Custom Tokens must be represented with a CAIP19 identifier.

{
    ...
    "asset": "eip155:1/erc20:0xdac17f958d2ee523a2206206994597c13d831ec7",
    "amount": "100", // number of tokens in the transfer
		"transactionValue": { // total value of the transaction in fiat currency
        "amount": "500",
        "currency": "EUR"
    },
    ...
}
🚧

transactionValue is the total value of the transfer in fiat currency, so this payload is for a transfer of 100 tokens where each token is valued at 5 euros resulting in a total transactionValue of 500 euros.

CAIP Identifiers

The Transact API relies on the CAIP standard to identify blockchain wallets, tokens and transaction hashes.

You can find the CAIP standard specs linked below:

Below is an explainer on how CAIP identifiers work and why Notabene uses them.
